Scripture for the Day (May 7, 2015)
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is the truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. (I John 2:27)
If you haven’t noticed from our past articles, we are pretty adamant about you knowing the Word of God for yourself. There is a reason for that. One of the last things Jesus told his disciples was the following, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)
Jesus did not tell his disciples he was sending them a Pastor, Prophet or Apostle. He said the Holy Ghost would be their teacher. Does that mean we shouldn’t listen to present day Pastors, Prophets or Apostles. Absolutely not!! They are ministry gifts to the church but they are human and they can be deceived. That is why you must know the Word of God, know the heart of God, and learn to trust the Holy Ghost that is inside you.We are supposed to be led by the Spirit (Romans 8:14). How are we ever going to be led by the Spirit if we do not know his voice, know his promptings, or know the Word of God that was written by men under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
We live in a very deceptive time when even the elect could be led astray if they don’t pay attention to the one that knows the truth. We encourage you to read every scripture in the New Testament that references the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, the anointing, the fruits of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit. Many churches do not even believe in the gifts of the Spirit. Many churches do not even teach about the Holy Spirit. Many churches do not even encourage you to personally study the Bible. READ IT FOR YOURSELF!!! I DARE YOU!!! You can not read the entire Bible without the Holy Spirit pointing out untruths that have been planted in your heart and revealing truth!!! It will change you life, for the better!!!
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14)
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak; and he will shew you things to come. (John 16:1)
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalm 1:3)
