Scripture for the Day – June 18, 2020

Mark 9:23: Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Somebody asked, “What are all things?” I like to say all the things that God has made provision for in His Word. That’s where your believing comes from in the first place. Faith or believing comes from hearing and hearing by the Word (will or testament) of God. (Romans 10:17)

Jesus said in John 15:7, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

God’s Word are His promises to us. Isaiah 43:26 says, “Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou may be justified.” Put God in remembrance of what He said, His Word. What God has said is His will, it is His desire. When a man dies, he leaves a will. It is everything he wants done after he dies. It is a legal document that must be carried out according to all that was written in it.

God’s Word describes our glorious inheritance. Ephesians 1:18 says, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.”

I John 5:14 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” Well, Jesus died, and he left a written document (New Testament) that is His last will and testament.

Hebrews 9:15-17 says, “Therefore Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that He has died to redeem them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. In the case of a will, it is necessary to establish the death of the one who made it, because a will does not take effect until the one who made it has died; it cannot be executed while he is still alive.…”

When Satan, the accuser of the brethren, tries to steal, kill, or destroy your inheritance, just do like Jesus and read from the will of God and say, “It is written” (Luke 4).

Isaiah 55:11 says, “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

Read the Word of God and stake claim to your inheritance.
