Scripture for the Day (May 20, 2015)

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. (II Corinthians 3:18, NKJV)

I hated English in high school and college! What a waste of my time, I thought. Then I found myself in my former secular position having to write 50-100 page reports on major audit results. And after I retired from that position, I found myself writing a Christian book and now daily devotionals. I repent Lord!!! I should have paid more attention in class. If my former English teachers could see what I am doing now they would all get saved because they would know a true miracle has taken place.

You can do a lot more than you think! Our scripture for the day tells you that, “we behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord”. That mirror is the Word of God (Bible) which is Jesus himself. Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:14). When you and I read the Word of God with an open mind (unveiled face) we are transformed by the Spirit of the Lord. The things that we thought were impossible now become possible. The lies that we have believed for years have to bow to the truth. The habits that the world says we can never be free from are suddenly broken.

I have worked beside a particular individual and friend (John B. Hart) for 26 years and I know his high school teachers never thought he would amount to much. He would be best described in his younger years as a long haired, dope smoking, rebellious hippy and beach bum type. But, he got SAVED, and since that time he has reached thousands of people for Christ, written books, owned numerous companies, and made millions of dollars. Who would have ever thought it??? Jesus did!

Here is my point. Jesus can make something out of nothing. He will take the things the enemy means for harm and turn them to the good. He will stir up gifts and talents in you that you did not even know you had. He will take a life without purpose and give you purpose and vision. He is not a respecter of persons and if he will do it for me and my friend he will do it for you. All you have to do is ask him (Jesus) into your heart and he will make you a new person. He will change your heart and you will begin to see things more clearly. Your path will begin to shine brighter and brighter! Ask Him!

And the Word (Jesus) was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14, KJV)

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:8-9, KJV)

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalm 1:3)
