Scripture of The Day

Jesus responded, “Thomas, now that you’ve seen me, you believe. But there are those who have never seen me with their eyes but have believed on me with their hearts, and they will be blessed even more! (John 20:29)

Have you ever given thought to the fact that there is a visible and an invisible kingdom? I know that there are a lot of people who don’t believe this. Some people say, “show me and I’ll believe it.” But as our scripture of the day states, Blessed are those that have not seen and yet believe. I think that is called faith.

Thomas was the “show me” kind of guy. I guess that is why he is called doubting Thomas. When Jesus appeared to His disciples Thomas was not there. When they told him that Jesus was alive, he said , “there’s now way I’m going to believe this unless I personally see the wounds of the nails in his hands and touch them with my finger, and put my hand into the wound of his side where he was pierced!” ( John 20:25 The Passion Bible)

One thing about the invisible world is that it is more real that the visible. Everything you see around you came from the invisible world. In the book of Genesis God said, ” let there be. And the thing he called forth came from the invisible realm into the visible. Hebrews 11:3, “Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen. (Passion Bible)

As Christians we are called to walk by Faith, not by sight. What you see is temporal, but the invisible realm is eternal! This is why the Holy Spirit came to be that still small voice inside us leading us and teaching us, and guiding us. In the hour in which we live we are going to have to have Big Faith. My Pastor preached about it this past Sunday and I so believe it.

I encourage you today to press into the presence of God and don’t get so caught up in what you see. Trust in God’s Word and believe it before you believe what you see. Read Hebrews chapter 11 and let the Hall of Faith encourage you to press in and believe God and His promises to you. He is the God who calls things into being that were not.
