Scripture for the Day – June 12, 2020

Luke 18:35-43: Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

The entire scripture above is good, but I want to focus on the last phrase of the last verse. “And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.” All the people gave praise to God! What will make people, (especially all the people) give praise to God? All the people gave praise to God when they saw it. Saw what? They gave praise to God when they saw that the blind man had received his sight.

Mark 2:10-12 says, “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins’- He said to the paralytic, ‘I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, ‘We never saw anything like this!’”

Here again, they saw the paralyzed man healed and they all were amazed and glorified God. John 4:48,53: Then said Jesus unto him, “Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.” [53] So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, “Thy son liveth:” and himself believed, and his whole house. His whole house believed because his son was healed.

I heard one minister say, “Healing is the dinner bell to salvation.” Keep on ringing that bell Lord!!!
