Scripture for the Day
(November 26, 2020)
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
(Psalm 100:4-5)

As I sit here today just thinking over my 73 years, my family, the opportunities Ed and I have had to share the Gospel, the precious friends that have come across our lives, I am overwhelmed at how good God has been to us. It makes me want to just fall to my knees and praise God with all of my being. This doesn’t mean our lives have been perfect and we have had no problems. On the contrary, it has been very hard sometimes. In our early years there was alcoholism, a child on drugs, careers and selfishness that tried to steal our marriage and family. But then when I was 30 and Ed was 35 God began to tug on our hearts. I knew there was more to life and I wanted peace, security, and love. I came to find out that Ed could not give me what I wanted and needed. This was a personal thing and I needed Jesus in my life. He was the only man that could give me what I needed. I was saved at 12 and it was very real. However, I did not live for Jesus after that. I followed the world and what the world said I needed.

Then there came a day when I was 30 years old with a new baby boy and that was the day I rededicated my life to Jesus. Ed gave his life to the Lord a few years later and then our lives changed forever! We still had a lot of things to work out and both of us had to allow Jesus to change our hearts, our ways, and our lives to please Him not the world. God is still working on us and the scripture says in Philippians 1:6, (Cheryl’s paraphrase), ..being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on until Jesus comes here or I go there.
There was a song we taught to our children called, “He’s Still Working on Me.” For that I am so grateful!!

From our family to yours we pray you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving Day. Just know God loves you and has great plans for your life, no matter your age. We are thankful for you and for all those who follow our ministry and support God’s work through New Life
Network.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
