Scripture for the Day (May 11, 2015)

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. (Psalm 34:14)

I don’t know about you but we have a very busy life style and there are all kind of things that can constantly steal our peace if you let them. Challenges with finances, children, relationships, marriages, business decisions, news reports, weather conditions, and on and on. It is crazy out there!!! The scripture tells us to seek and pursue peace. That tells me we have to do something if we want some peace in our everyday lives. It will not just drop into our lap one day.

My wife and I have learned over the years that we have to get away from time to time to relax and just spend time together. What we like to do is go bass fishing together. Now, I know that may seem strange to some of you, and that is okay. It works for us. Something else may work for you. The picture of the morning sky above was taken from our bass boat last Saturday morning in White Springs, FL. It is beautiful to see what God has created. Just us and the bass, the frogs, and the gators talking to each other. My wife could do without the gators but I keep telling her that they are peaceful.

Peace is a very important ingredient to your success. Peace is one of the fruits of the Spirit. We are to be led by peace; we are perfected by peace; and we serve a Lord that is the Prince of Peace. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ and are in a situation that constantly has no peace then you need to pray and ask for wisdom, and maybe forgiveness, because somewhere you have gone off course. God’s desire for you is peace! Body, Soul and Spirit! On this earth. Not just when you get to Heaven. Seek it!! Pursue it!!

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. (Psalm 37:37)

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. (Psalm 119:165)

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (Isaiah 26:3)

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (Isaiah 55:12)

For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:17)

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalm 1:3)
