Scripture for the Day
September 18, 2020

Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing. (James 1:2-4, AMPC)

No one wants to go through trials. However, this is a fact of life according to Jesus himself.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

There is one verse that I always turn to when going through trials. You and I have not come close to going through what Jesus went through.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (Hebrews 1:3)

There is definitely a couple of things I have learned through the recent trials I have experienced. Those two things are endurance and patience. If you are going through some trials presently, let me share some scriptures with you that will help:

Ephesians 6:11-13
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Psalm 27:14
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Romans 8:25

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Psalm 37:34
Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land:
