Scripture of The Day

But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory….
2 Corinthians 3:18

I have had the wonderful opportunity to go to San Diego, California for my grandson’s high school graduation. How exciting it is to see how God is taking these young students from one place in their lives to another. One door shutting and another opening.

Isn’t that how God does us? He graduates us from one place in Him to another. The scripture says that He takes us from glory to glory.  I looked up the word graduation. It comes from the Latin root word, grad, meaning, to step. Walking with the Lord is a step by step, precept upon precept process. Much like these high school students. They go from 8th grade to 12th grade and they mature along the way. We may not have grades per se, but our walk with the Lord takes us through many learning experiences. The more time we spend with Him the more we learn and grow and
mature.

I found a couple of topics that are often spoken at graduations. These topics line up with God’s Word. I pray they encourage you as you graduate from glory to glory.
(1) Don’t be afraid. God has told us time and time again to not be afraid. We have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7) When you let go of fear you graduate from fear to faith!
(2) You can’t do it alone. God has put us in a family for a reason. We are better together. Anyone who thinks that they can do things without anyone else is in pride! We need each other! If any two of you agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. ( Matt, 18:19 )
(3) Change takes courage. For the most part most people do not like change. However, God’s Word says that we are being changed, transformed by the renewing of our minds. Everything changes, except Jesus. Do not be afraid of change, embrace it! Step out in faith and trust God.
(4) Force yourself to make choices that put you out of your comfort zone. It is very easy to stay in our comfort zone. It feels safe and we know what to expect. However, the walk of faith is just that, a walk of faith. That means when God calls us to step out in something we have never done before, we need to get out of the boat of comfort and trust Him! When you do, you will graduate from comfort to faith!
Be encouraged! God has great things in our future.
