Scripture for the Day – October 14, 2019

All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and it make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right” (2 Timothy 3:16, NLT)

I was going through some notes from a business meeting I attended several months ago and I saw something in my notes that caught my eye. This was the theme of the meeting, “Inspired Influence”. I began to think about that term. It has been on my mind for the last several days.

We have a Webster’s Dictionary from 1862. The definitions of the words in this dictionary are illustrated by direct scripture or principles of the scripture.
When I looked up the word Inspire it said this: to breathe into, to infuse by breathing, to infuse into the mind, as to inspire with new life. The word inspired means breathed in, inhaled, infused, informed or directed by the Holy Spirit. In this manner we suppose the prophets to have been inspired and the Scriptures to have been composed under divine influence or direction.

God breathed the breath of life into man at creation. Man was infused with new life. Man is meant to have inspired influence wherever he goes. You and I are to walk in that same realm. You and I have a sphere of influence, people you live with, those you work with, the ones you go to church with, and even strangers.

I have a question for you today. Who are you breathing into? Who are you breathing into as to infuse them with New Life? Think about it. I read somewhere that even if you are an introvert, have few friends, and stick to yourself, that in your life time you will have influenced 10,000 people.

Who inspires you? Who causes you to get fired up? God is my inspiration. There is nothing too hard for him. He never leaves me, He loves me with an everlasting love, He is my healer, my protector, my peace, the Glory and the lifter of my head, and He is my provider. He breathes new life into me through His Word and through the Holy Spirit.

I want to encourage you today to be aware of your influence around others. God has given all of us great inspiration through His Word. When we have our quiet time in His Word and in prayer he will speak to us and stir us up to do the things He has called us to do. When His Word is in us and we have spent time with him we will be inspired and God can use us to have life
changing Inspired Influence on others.
