Scripture for the Day – June 4, 2019
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost (speaking evil of; scurrilous; railing; vilifying; defaming; reviling) shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. (Matthew 12:30-32)
I have heard thousands of songs that honor God and/or honor Jesus but very few that honor the Holy Ghost. Jesus was pretty plain in the statements He made about the Holy Ghost. We were to listen to Him, be taught by Him, be led by Him, and most importantly, Honor Him.
We were in Charlotte, NC this weekend for our grandson’s high school graduation. On the trip home we were listening to “The Message” radio station and we heard a song for the first time entitled “Spirit of the Living God” by Meredith Andrews. I told my wife after listening to it that this song honors the Holy Ghost like no other song I have ever heard. I also told her that it hurts my heart that many people in the church today have never experienced what this song is talking about.
