Scripture for the Day Jan. 31, 2019

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. (Mark 16:15-20)

I’ve heard people quote the following verse and say that there is nothing you can say or do to get people saved. They say that unless the Father draws them you are just wasting your time praying for and sharing the gospel with them.

John 6:44: No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

The Father sends His ambassadors (that’s us) to proclaim the good news to all we come in contact with. Now, He is drawing them, but He’s doing it through us, His body. When you become a child of God through the new birth, you become one with Him. You are His body in the earth carrying out His plans.

Jesus in Matthew 9:37-38 says, “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’”

Jesus, who is one with the Father, said to pray to the Father that He would send laborers into the harvest. We are the body of Christ and we are the laborers and we represent God in the earth.

Romans 10:14-15 says, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’”

Mark 4:14 says, “The sower sows the word.”

Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

We are the sowers of God’s Word that will not return void.

II Corinthians 5:20 says, “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

Allow the Father to draw people through you, sow His Word, be His vessel, and be His ambassador.
