Scripture for the Day – June 11, 2020

John 6:44: No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

I’ve heard people quote the above verse and say that there is nothing you can say or do to get people saved. Unless the Father draws them, you are just wasting your time praying for and sharing the gospel with them. The Father sends us to proclaim the good news to all we come in contact with. Now, He is drawing them, but He’s doing it through us, His body. When you become a child of God through the new birth, you become one with Him. You are His body in the earth carrying out His plans.

Jesus in Matthew 9:37-38 says, “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’”

Jesus, who is one with the Father, said to pray to the Father that He would send laborers into the harvest. We are the body of Christ. We are the laborers and we represent God on the earth.

Romans 10:14-15 says, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’”

Mark 4:14 says, “The sower sows the word.”

Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” We are the sowers of God’s Word that will not return void.

II Corinthians 5:20 says, “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

Allow the Father to draw people through you. Sow His Word; be His vessel; and be His ambassador.
