Scripture of the Day, October 27. 2020

But the counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (John 14:26)

Back in the late eighties, about a year after Ed and I got saved and called into the ministry, I was asked to speak at a local women’s event. They asked me to give my testimony. I never thought that my testimony was very exciting or earth shattering. But I love to minister to women. So I gladly accepted. There is something wonderful about sisterhood. We girls are all a lot alike in many ways and we experience a lot of the same things.

I will confess I was very nervous and a bit afraid. I didn’t feel very educated or trained in the field of ministry. I wasn’t sure they would like me or like what I had to say. I just knew what Jesus had done for me and how He saved the man I loved. I knew how He changed my family and our entire lives. So I just concentrated on what I knew.

I guess I never thought about how powerful a testimony is. The Bible says, “And they overcame him, (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Rev. 12:11

When the day came and I was introduced I stepped up to the microphone and all of a sudden the fear left me, the insecurity left me, and I spoke like I have never spoken before. I realized that our testimonies are important, Holy, and a weapon. They bring Hope to othersa nd help them to believe that if God did it for me He will do it for them.

As I spoke, the scripture from John 14:26 came alive right there! Things came out of my mouth that I did not know I knew! Scripture was flowing out of my lips that I knew but I didn’t remember I knew it! I know this sounds crazy, but the Holy Spirit was working big time in me that day and I knew it! God’s anointing was so strong on me I could hardly stand!

Telling others what God has done for you and in you cannot be messed up. Just speak those things you have seen and heard in your life. No one can take that away from you, you don’t even have to have a degree to share it. The Holy Spirit honors your testimony!!

I encourage you today when the opportunity comes about for you to tell what Jesus has done for you, just tell it!!

Lesson….Read God’s Word! Get it down on the inside of you. When the day comes, and it will, that you need it the Holy Spirit will bring it to your remembrance. He will anoint you to do whatever He calls you to do.
