Scripture of The Day

A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. (Proverbs 17:17)

By Ed Henderson (2015)

We just spent three days wonderful days with our close friends Steve and Crystal Whyte. We have known this couple for a very long time and they are dear friends. Steve is Brig and Lita Hart’s right hand man and it is amazing what this man can do. He is an electrician, plumber, mechanic, builder, general contractor and much, much more. He can build you a house or a race car. He can handle detailed contracts and legal matters. I have never met anyone as versatile as Steve. Crystal is our main intercessor for the ministry and a key prayer partner for Cheryl. Most of all, the Whytes are our friends and friends are very important. You need good friends to make it through this life.

The following are some characteristics of good friends:

* A friend loves at all times. (Proverbs 17:17). That means through the good, the bad, and the ugly.
* Friends support each other. Friends do what friends do (like bass fishing).
* Friends are trustworthy. They do not lie to you, even when the truth may hurt.
* Friends never abandon you.
* Friends lift you up when you are down.
* Friends are always praying for you.
Thank you Steve and Crystal for being our friends! We love you two very much. We are friends for life! A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24) Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. (Proverbs 27:17) Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. (John 15:15) And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalm 1:3)
