Scripture for the Day (August 19, 2016)
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
I woke up this morning with 1 John 4:4 ringing in my ears. I am not in any kind of demonic fight that I am aware of so this must be for someone out there in devotion land. If you are in any type of demonic or spiritual battle, listen up!!!
Most Christians do not have a clue the power that is available to them to overcome the enemy. They have never been taught how to resist the devil or how to cast down and/or take authority over imaginations, lies, and everything that exalts itself above the knowledge of God. They have never been exposed to the power of the Holy Spirit. Most Christians only have a picture of the demonic from the movies which usually showcase the fictional power of the enemy which has no resemblance to the real truth.
If you are a born-again Christian, you have power available to you that is far greater than anything you have ever seen in a movie. You have the Word of God (the truth) and you have the Holy Spirit! You just need to recognize that you have been fully equipped for battle. You just have to submit to God, put your armor on, pick up your weapons, and start resisting the enemy. You do that the same way Jesus did it. You speak the Word of God to your situation or lie. You pray the Word of God over your circumstances. You demand that the enemy take his hands off your property, possessions, and kin! You speak to the mountain! You stand up and fight! That is what a true warrior does!
Listen to what the Word of God says about you in several different Bible translations of 1 John 4:4:
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (King James Version)
My dear children, you come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory over those false teachers, for the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world. (The Message Bible)
You, my children, who belong to God have already defeated this spirit, because the one who lives in you is far stronger than the anti-Christ in the world. (Phillips Translation)

You are more powerful than you think! It’s time to get mad at your true enemy! It’s time to get to a point that you are just not going to take it any more! You can do it! God has given you the power. Use it!!!
