And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:19-20)
I had the honor of attending a meeting of CEOs and elected officials on Tuesday (2/21) in Jacksonville, FL. I sat in for our Founder and CEO (John B. Hart) who is presently out of the country. The following is just a very brief summary of the highlights of that meeting which I thought you may find interesting:
Art Ally, President/CEO, Timothy Partners, Ltd. – All of our institutions (government and religious) have failed us. It is time for Christian business owners and entrepreneurs to take up the challenge.
Debbie Wuthnow, CEO, Executive Director, I-Voter Guide – Voters need to know as much about the candidates they are voting for as someone they are looking to hire in their own business. Only 20% of voters vote in the primary which is actually more important than the general election. Most voters don’t even complete an entire ballot. I-Voter guide is a one-stop shop project to provide detailed information on all candidates. (www.ivoterguide.com)
Lea Carawan, CEO, Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation – We are in a battle for our nation! Over 100 million dollars has been spent to get God out of our government. Room #219 in Congress is being used for 30 minutes a week where 100 members of Congress (Republicans & Democrats) come to pray for our nation. One of the initiatives this group was able to get approved in Congress was our US National Motto “In God We Trust” which now hangs on the walls of Congress. (www.cpcfoundation.com).
Bob Williamson, CEO, The Jesus Alliance – Bob shared his testimony of coming from a very abusive background, a life of crime, and living on the streets, to accepting Jesus into his heart and becoming a
multi-millionaire businessman. He is the founder of The Jesus Alliance which is establishing a global communications network to unite, equip and mobilize the Body of Christ. (www.thejesusalliance.org)
Matt Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel – Matt is a lawyer that touched on the legal challenges of the Christian community and how to navigate those type challenges. If you own a business and have not been confronted by those challenges you will in time.
Ken Eldred, CEO, Living Stones Foundation – We have compartmentalized our lives into family, business, politics, and faith. Our faith should run through all those areas, including our business. We need full-time warriors, not just Sunday weekend warriors.
Glen Repple, CEO, G. A. Repple and Associates – We need to impact our culture through our businesses. Ministry doesn’t fuel business. Business should fuel ministry. He has developed a Master’s Degree program called “The Nehemiah Project” to teach biblical entrepreneurship. It is a 10 week on-line course.
Randy Forbes, Florida Congressman – Founder of the Room #219 prayer project in Congress where 100 representatives from Congress pray every week. He prayed in that room by himself for weeks before 10 more Congressmen joined him and now they have 100.
John Stemberger, Florida Family Policy Council – We have drifted away from God’s design. Deception is the only disease we can have and not know we have it.
Alan Hayes, Former Florida Senator – Political correctness is the most deadly disease we face. We are at a crossroads. We can take back this country but we have to get off the bench and get in the game.
Bottom line, if you want our country to remain a God fearing country, it is time to get involved. It is time to stand up and fight!!!
