Scripture of The Day
August 27, 2021

I call Heaven and earth to witness this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live:….Deuteronomy 30:19 AMP

The above scripture has been an anchor for Ed and I as we have walked with the Lord. Life throws a lot of things at you and we must make many choices every day.  I love going back to the beginning. Genesis is the place of first mention when it comes to choices. God gave Adam one rule, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shall surely die.” Genesis 2:17

This is when Adam and Eve had choices. God did not make them robots or a people He could manipulate. He created Adam and Eve to have a free will. And He did not stop them when they chose to disobey His Word. He also did not take away the consequences of their actions.  God’s plan for His kids is to live life to it’s fullest and be blessed, to worship Him and walk in His ways. However He will not make you. You have choices. God wants us to always choose the things that bring forth life in us. He said to choose life so that we and our children and our children’s children will be blessed.

It has not changed since Genesis. God wants us to serve Him and obey His Word because we want to. I encourage you today to think about your choices. Our world is getting tough. We will all have to make serious choices in the days ahead. I pray that God gives you wisdom, discernment, and the power of the Holy Spirit to make choices that bring forth life, that thou and thy seed will prosper.
