Seek the Lord and be glad. Seek His face and hear His Voice. (I Chronicles 16:11)

By Marsha Rex

This was the renowned saying of Joan Rivers – a famous comedian, now passed on. As you know, from time-to-time God brings someone across your path that wants to talk; needs a hug (sometimes virtually); or needs some Words of wisdom. I am always available to listen and counsel as God leads. So, my answer is, “Yes, we certainly can talk!”

Today I would like to encourage you about Love Demonstrated. Since Covid, we are all struggling to get our lives back, our finances, our relationships, our children, and family members who have suffered greatly during this time; we need to re-center and re-focus. And we are all trying, to say the least. We all know the most significant demonstrated love was the love of Jesus on the cross, and nothing can top that, right? But how should we demonstrate our love for him? I think we may be too busy asking for help for ourselves and others, by not taking the time for that most important step. There is nothing wrong with praying for us and those of our family members and friends, please continue to do this daily. But at the same time, our attitude should be the same as Christ.

Here are 3 ways we can follow his example:
1) Refresh others by the giving of ourselves. Jesus showed a symbol of love and humility by washing the disciple’s feet in (John 13:1-17.)

2) Restore one another to their spiritual condition if they have fallen. (Galatians 6:1)

3) Receive one another by accepting their present condition, as Jesus accepted us. (Romans 15:7)
Although the enemy will try to convince you otherwise, there is no room for prejudice. We must do right at the right time for the right reasons.

Hebrews 4:16 tells us “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help (us and others) in our time of need.”
Put yourself in a position to be blessed. Stay close to God and give him glory and thanks. Learn who he is and make him known to others. Call upon his name, and share answered prayers with others as testimony.

(1 Chronicles 16:11) “Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually.
