Scripture for the Day (March 23, 2016)

The thief cometh not but to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

I have been sitting in my office today thinking about what I should share with you on this day when many lost their lives in Brussels. On the one hand, I am sad and grieve with all the families that have lost loved ones today. On the other hand, I am mad that our country has not done more to confront and conquer this enemy.

I don’t usually like to dwell on end time prophecy but it just seems that more and more it is something we cannot ignore. Jesus told us that in the end days that Christians would be hated and there would be an enemy that would attempt to kill us all. That is happening today in Africa, the Middle East, North Korea, and other countries.

Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. (Matthew 24:9, NLT)

The Bible talks in the Books of Jeremiah (Jer. 6:14) and Ezekiel (Ezek. 13:10) about false prophets saying peace, peace and there is no peace. We are living in such a time! We did a devotional several days ago about “Who Are The Real Bullies?”. Please go back and read that devotional. There comes a time, as described in that devotional, that you have to stand up to the bully or you will lose everything. It’s that time!

From a spiritual perspective, I look at it like this. We have an enemy and His name is Satan. He comes to kill, steal and destroy. You can be as nice to him as possible but he is not going to change. He is not going to get saved. You can send your best diplomat, you can give him millions of dollars, and he is still going to try his best to kill you.

Look at it this way. You can’t get a better diplomat than Jesus and Satan killed Him. Big mistake Satan! Jesus rose from the dead and took the keys of death and the grave away from Satan (Revelation 1:18). He defeated our last enemy, Death!

I hate war just as much as anybody but it is time to punch these bullies in the face. It is time we stop sitting by and watching innocent people being slaughtered and Christians and other minorities being ethnically cleansed by these genocidal bullies. It is time the bullies face real soldiers versus innocent women and children. If that sounds a little harsh, I don’t apologize!!! We cannot sit back and watch another Pearl Harbor, Holocaust or 9/11 occur before we summon enough courage to act.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1 and 3:8)

Blessed be the Lord my strength, who teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight; (Psalm
144:1)
